When accessing our website, Cottage Tips will learn certain information about you during your visit. How we will handle information we learn about you depends upon what you do when visiting our site.

If you visit our site to read or download information on our pages, we collect and store only the following information about you:

1. The name of the domain from which you access the Internet.
2. The date and time you access our site.
3. The Internet address of the website you used to link directly to our site.

“Cookies” are simple text files that web browsers place on computer hard drives when sites are visited. Cookies cannot damage files, nor can they read information from a user’s hard drive. The cookie, by itself, doesn’t tell us your e-mail address or who you are. When you participate in our activities, we do not store any personal information within cookies, nor do we link or combine information collected through cookies to any personal information submitted online.

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to CottageTips.com.

Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to CottageTips.com users based on their visit to CottageTips.com and/or other sites on the Internet.

The DoubleClick Dart cookie is used by Google in the ads served on the websites of its partners, such as websites displaying AdSense ads or participating in Google certified ad networks. When users visit a partner’s website and either view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user’s browser. The data gathered from these cookies will be used to help better serve and manage ads on the publisher’s site(s) and across the web.

Users may opt out of the use of the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising by visiting Ad Settings.

Users may also opt out of the use of the Google DoubleClick DART cookie by visiting Google Ads Polices.

Alternatively, users can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for interest-based advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

Other third party vendors may use cookies to serve ads on CottageTips.com. Users can go to opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the EU-based Your Online Choices or Opt Out Ads Info or the Network Advertising Initiative Opt-out page.

For a full explanation of how interest-based advertising works, please visit the NAI’s Understanding Online Advertising page.
